HydrogenDays 2021

DESCRIPTION:
Dear Colleagues, Ladies and Gentlemen,

In 2021, the Hydrogen Days conference will celebrate its 11th anniversary. Hydrogen Days conference continuously attracts important players and stakeholders in the hydrogen technology sector and supports the international networking of specialists in the sector. Moreover, the conference helps to coordinate the activities in Central and Eastern Europe. Recently, the hydrogen sector has shown a rapid development of already established and newly launched hydrogen technologies. This development is accompanied by increasing enthusiasm among experts in the business and the public sectors. Year 2020 will be a special one because of the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, which are expected to showcase the highest concentration of hydrogen technologies for ensuring the mobility of all the participants. This will be a very important and useful test of the ability of hydrogen technologies to solve the complex task of transportation on a large scale under real life conditions. The experience gained will surely provide a very important impulse for further development in the sector. All on-going activities and targets can be summarized in this years Hydrogen Days 2021 motto:

Hydrogen on the move.

Hydrogen Days 2021: Are you interested in recent progress made in hydrogen technologies in Europe and worldwide?

Would you like to meet colleagues and have an opportunity to discuss your latest results, or to find partners for collaboration?

Or, are you simply interested in developments in the exciting field of hydrogen technologies?

Join us from March 24 to 26, 2021, in Comfort Hotel Prague City East***.

Karel Bouzek

Chairman of the Scientific Committee

Technical Excursions

Come and visit Leancat, a Czech hydrogen-driven technology startup. Our first interest was a new "lean cat-alyst", then we moved on to R&D of new versions of PEM fuel cells for various applications. Out of need to properly test these FCs, we started to develop our own sophisticated testing stations we now export worldwide. We also offer testing as a service. The rest of our product portfolio consists of an H2 generator, a UPS and an H2forklift. [www.lean-cat.com]

UCT Prague represents the biggest educational institution of its kind in Central Europe. UCT Prague is deeply involved into the research of hydrogen related technologies. It covers not only fuel cells and water electrolysis, but also broad spectra of related technologies, like purification, storage and safety. Excursion to UCT Prague will allow you to visit selected laboratories and to discuss with specialists involved in this interesting field of research. [http://uat.vscht.cz/en/research/]

UJV Řež, a.s. is a reputable, renowned scientific-research and engineering company dedicated to nuclear technologies and their application in various fields. A key field of UJV Řežs interest is energy, where special attention is given to the development of long-term sustainable energy with minimum environmental impact. One of these activities is focusing on hydrogen technologies in energy and transportation, particularly high temperature processes (SOFC, SOEC), energy storage, hydrogen-based hybrid stand-alone systems and microgrids and their integration to the distribution network.
Excursion to UJV will allow you to visit:

  • Research nuclear reactor LR-0 - the reactor is a light-water, zero-power, pool-type reactor. It serves as an experimental reactor for measuring neutron-physical characteristics of VVER (Water-Water Energetic Reactor) type reactors.
  • Trihybus - City bus with triple hybrid electric drive and hydrogen fuel cells
  • Pilot unit of hydrogen energy storage system - the energy surplus storage system from photovoltaic panels to hydrogen

We cordially invite you to visit EFG Rapotin BPS, one of the five waste biogas plants in the Czech Republic. It is unique that also accepts the substrate in sales packaging and is equipped with a biomethane production plant. During the visit, you will see the entire operation of EFG Rapotin BPS - a tour of the functional components (intake of biologically degradable substrate, hydrolysis, hygiene, fermenters, control room, membrane separation, CHP unit). The journey from Prague takes 3.5 hours.

Centre of Vehicles for Sustainable Mobility is a part of the Czech Technical University in Prague. Activities of the Research Centre aim at resources and technologies that lead to the new solutions and optimizations of combustion engine designs for vehicles and energy sector. Another activity within the Research Centre is focused on the powertrains, including electric and hybrid, and their integrated management with respect to efficiency and environmental friendliness.
Excursion to Centre will allow you to visit:

  • Test bench for injection systems
  • Vehicle emission laboratory with MAHA 4x4 chassis dyno (total power 300 kW)
  • Engine test cells up to 400 kW plus single cylinder research engine
  • Gearbox test cells (open and close loop)
  • CNG + Gas mixing station – on-line blending of gaseous fuels (H2, CO2, C2H6, C3H8 …)
  • Mechatronic laboratory
  • E-storage system – battery simulation up to 100 kW
  • Electric drive laboratory

NEWS

May 28, 2020

Hydrogen Days 2020 conference has been postponed due to the situation with Covid -19 till March 24th - 26th, 2021

March 11, 2020

Dear Participants of the conference Hydrogen Days 2020,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee we regretfully have to inform you that the conference Hydrogen Days 2020 scheduled for March 25-27, 2020 has been postponed until autumn 2020 - November 25 - 27,2020, venue remains the same place. The organizers highly value the safety and health of all participants and acknowledge that because of the current situation surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19), the conference, as a public event, may not potentially provide the best environment for its participants. The Organizing Committee is also concerned that some participants may experience difficulty travelling to the Czech Republic due to the various restrictions imposed.

In the light of the above and also Czech government´s prohibition of public events with more than 100 participants coming into force from today on until cancellation, the organizers have to follow this restriction and decided to postpone the conference Hydrogen Days 2020 to a later date - November 25 - 27, 2020. However sad, we strongly believe that it is the right decision and hope for your understanding. We apologize though for any inconvenience caused.

We would like to reassure you that your registration remains valid as well as the registration fees paid and we would appreciate it if we could regard your registration as confirmed from your side too. Any conflicting issues will be dealt accordingly as they arise. We will be working to finalize the details and will share updated information regarding the Hydrogen Days 2020 in April.

In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries or require further information at registration@hydrogendays.cz.

We look forward to welcoming you at the Hydrogen Days 2020 in November 25 - 27,2020 in The Comfort Hotel Prague City East.
